About

9th Forensic Engineering Congress

ASCE commissioned the Forensic Engineering Division (FED, formerly the Technical Council on Forensic Engineering) several decades ago to enhance the body of knowledge within the civil engineering profession regarding the investigation of failures and performance problems within the built environment. Since its inception, FED has continually sponsored the widely-read Journal of Performance of Constructed Facilities, published numerous books and guidelines, and presented many workshops and seminars to aid both practitioners and academia. FED continues to develop practices and procedures to reduce the number of failures, to disseminate information on failures and their causes, to provide guidelines for conducting failure investigations, and to provide guidelines for ethical conduct in forensic engineering. Each Forensic Engineering Congress, with this being the 9th, serves as an opportunity for architects, engineers, scientists, lawyers, and insurance professional to enhance their knowledge and understanding of civil engineering works, their performance issues, and state of the art investigative tools/procedures.
